On the 30th two of our brothers sighted some vertebrate animals with pointed protuberances projecting from the skull. In all they counted eight. They would be at a distance of 350 terrestrial metres. The appropriate orders were given to approach, provided with defence equipment. Our brothers were covered with EEWEEGOO. Its outward appearance is that of a classic, very tight-fitting terrestrial overall. In reality it is a thin film sprayed by means of an aspersion nozzle onto the epidermis of the thorax, back, arms and legs. It is a substance whose main base is a silicon compound in colloidal solution in a volatile product. When this liquid is sprayed onto the skin the diluent evaporates rapidly, leaving the skin covered with a thin opaque and porous layer or film of antistatic character. It is the only garment we use when we work in close contact with Nature.
Its colour varies according to certain working circumstances. In general a colour code is used when such equipment is used on our Planet. However, our brothers from UMMO sent here at that time adopted a brown colour for the purposes of efficient camouflage. We explain these small details to you because the incident we are going to relate is still surprising to us even now.
Our brothers set off towards the herd of animals we have indicated. They were simply cows and steers, but at that time this animal, which does not exist on UMMO, was completely unknown to us. Only the evidence of the udders made it possible to identify the sex of those beings.
At last they reached the vicinity of that group. Before approaching much closer, they began the usual operations of recording sounds and images and the process of detecting the electrostatic and gravitational fields emitted by these animals. Positioned at a distance of fifteen terrestrial metres, they proudly observed the peculiar behaviour of the animals, which, despite noticing the presence of our brothers, went on grazing unperturbed.
Suddenly there appeared from behind a large nearby rock a human being, undoubtedly an adolescent, dressed in a way strange to our attire. His clothes did not resemble the images that had been recorded until then. The sex of the individual turned out to be male, but at first it was impossible to identify him as such. It was an 11-year-old boy who was watching over his father’s cattle, but we learned all this later, as we shall explain.
The surprise and instant concern of our brothers was very great. Without moving from the position they occupied, they requested instructions from the Head of our underground Base by means of a finger code, so that the newcomer would not observe any movement of the lips.
The boy was holding in his hand a yellowish-white substance (BREAD) impregnated with a blackish product (It was probably sausage or fruit preserve) (The Report does not specify), which he was eating calmly, quite unperturbed by the presence of our three brothers, whom he looked at attentively without appearing too surprised.
The little UUGEE addressed some phrases to them, of course unintelligible. Then, seeing that he got no answer, he came even closer and, putting his hand to his forehead, looked at them more attentively. It is curious to note the series of misunderstandings that followed. On later analysing the adolescent’s behaviour (His name was Pierre), it was clear that the gesture of putting his hand to his forehead was simply to shield himself from the sun, since our brothers had their backs to the Star; but they interpreted this mimicry as a greeting and repeated the greeting, which must have surprised the UUGEE even more.
The French boy, seeing the passive attitude of our brothers, called his cows and withdrew, waving timidly. The explorers, who did not move from their places while the incident lasted, following the instructions of the head of our group, returned to the base gallery deeply worried. A study debate on the Situation was begun at once. The surprise was so great that no images were even recorded of the terrestrial child, which might perhaps have helped, through the analysis of gestures, to interpret his attitude. The situation was judged so grave that they seriously considered the advisability of getting in touch with UMMO telepathically. But after all it had to be recognised that situations like that one, and even graver ones, had been foreseen before the arrival on OYAAGAA (PLANET EARTH).
The degree of uncertainty about what might happen was so insoluble that it was decided to determine the most suitable defence and protection measures that could be carried out. The entrance to the gallery was closed and camouflaged, and it was resolved not to leave it until 1200 UIW had elapsed. The only contact with the outside consisted of the Air pumping devices and the devices for optical vision and recording of images, sounds and force fields.
31 March 1950: On the 31st, almost 467 UIW having elapsed since the serious incident we have narrated to you, without any abnormal outward signs being observed either in the vicinity or in the village of La Javie (The only one accessible within the optical field of the observation equipment), they saw the group of cows seen the day before (9 head this time) cross at a distance of 377 ENMO, with the same UGEE. This time his image was captured with fidelity of movement, and all the details, both of his physiological morphology and of his attire, were enlarged.
In the following five hundred UIW, images were captured of other human beings who crossed the optical Field of observation, but at a greater distance than that of the route followed by the UGEE. They were two adult males.
Taking stock in retrospect of those days, we can only marvel at what happened. The facts were deduced later, after various talks with the persons who took part in the events. For example, it is unheard of that the boy Pierre ___ ______________ (We omit his surname for obvious reasons), who is still alive, was not more surprised by our attire and did not run to report us to his parents or to the Authorities of Digne. This young man, who has never known our true identity, although our contacts with him (Which we shall go on to relate) were frequent, confessed that the strange “tight clothes” of the visitors did not catch his attention very much. Two years earlier he had seen three German or Swiss surveyors taking measurements in the surroundings, and the second experience did not surprise him much. He said that he took us for what “we were”, “for foreigners”. Unsatisfied childish curiosity led him to hope to meet us again in order to satisfy it, and he did not dare say anything to his father, fearing, rightly, that the latter would advise him not to approach strangers. He confesses his disappointment on finding that on the following day (THE 31st) the foreigners were no longer there. (Remember that on that date our expedition brothers did not dare go out, expecting a possible reaction from the terrestrials.
During the UIW preceding the next outing, it was agreed to make, from a sheet of AEEWWIEE (A flexible and elastic grey substance), some outfits vaguely resembling the clothes of the adults whose images had been captured on the 31st. The buttons were imitated with an aluminium alloy, although the real function of buttons was in fact unknown). The ties were made of IGUUXOO paste (black in colour), all in one piece, since the knot and the band seen in the image allowed only their external topological character to be appreciated. As a handkerchief was sticking out of the pocket of one of the individuals sighted, even this detail was imitated (Without knowing its function) by making a crumpled sheet of GIIXAA YUXAA (A synthetic food product that comes in the form of a thin sheet) stick out of a slit in the supposed suit. Now we are horrified just thinking of the effect our brothers would have made walking down a central street in Digne. For no terrestrial observer would have confused the elastic fabrics used to make ordinary clothing with that crude imitation. But the rigorous judgement of our brothers avoided this danger. It was only a matter of going out at night or, at most, in the evening.
However, on 2 April 1950, finding that our presence did not seem to have caused alarm, and even admitting the plausible hypothesis that the terrestrials, informed of our presence, were watching us stealthily, it was decided to go out in broad daylight, wearing the outfits improvised in terrestrial style. This time our two brothers carried with them, besides the recording and defence equipment, a copy of the message drafted by means of easily interpreted ideographic symbols that we have mentioned in earlier reports, and a fragment of the newspaper LE FIGARO found days before scattered on the ground and impregnated with excrement.
It was decided to go in search of the terrestrial child who usually accompanied the mammals seen days before.
The UGEE (child), on seeing them, waved his hands, without our brothers understanding clearly whether it was a hostile gesture, a greeting or an alarm, and they chose to stand still awaiting the adolescent’s reaction. He approached, apparently without fear, and must have asked them something. This time he seemed more surprised on seeing their strange clothes than on the previous occasion, even though they were an imitation of terrestrial ones. It is curious to note that the UGEE recognised them, despite the difference in attire.
The UGEE took out a strange container (It was a thermos flask) and offered them its contents after unwrapping another package of food. A lively conversation by signs began. One of our brothers, though knowing the risk he was running in case the foods had their proteins oriented in the other direction (You know that protein molecules can be dextrorotatory and laevorotatory), dared to accept the food so as not to arouse further suspicion, warning his brother to refuse.
This was the first time that one of our brothers ingested terrestrial food, which turned out not to be harmful (This detail, which may seem trivial to you, is of transcendent importance ), for it went on confirming the hypothesis that establishes the same molecular orientation for all living beings of the WAAM (COSMOS), contrary to one of the postulates of the now declining hypothesis of parity in orientation, according to which the probability that the organic molecular pillars arising on a planet are oriented dextrorotatorily is statistically the same as for laevorotatory.
The terrestrial child did not seem very surprised by our brothers’ language, so much so that they judged, astonished, that the adolescent was not surprised that those beings came from another Planet (Do not forget that we still believed at that time that terrestrials understood all their own languages, fragments of which had already been differentiated by our specialists, who had picked up their radio emissions). In a word: While the shepherd took our expedition brothers for mere foreigners, they were convinced that the boy had guessed their extraterrestrial identity.
One of our brothers began the immediate task of pointing at various objects so that the UGEE would translate their meaning into his language. The little one understood at once what was wanted of him and, very proud to act as teacher, went on interpreting in the French language a rich range of objects and simple verbs. Our brothers took out the fragment of the French-language Newspaper and the child, though with some difficulty, read whole paragraphs.
You cannot imagine the inner joy of our brothers. The child’s gestures and words were recorded optically and phonically without his noticing. Our brothers in the underground Gallery followed the events faithfully through a gravitational-wave transmitting set. You yourselves can appreciate how important it was for us not only to know the meaning of some phonemes in a terrestrial language (in this case French), but to know the phonic interpretation of the symbols or letters printed in a document, even though we still did not know their genuine meaning. On that day 119 words corresponding to objects visible in the countryside, parts of the human body, and verbs representing some typical actions such as “TO TAKE”, “TO EAT”, “TO DRINK”, “TO CLIMB”, etc. in their infinitives, were revealed to us by that terrestrial UGEE.

FIRST DAYS SPENT ON THE SURFACE OF OYAGAA (PLANET EARTH)
In the preceding reports we briefly related to you the historic days that preceded our first arrival on this Planet, as well as the arrival of three OAWOOLEA UEWA (SHIPS OF LENTICULAR STRUCTURE) at a point in the region surrounding DIGNE (BASSES ALPES: FRANCE).
In the following paragraphs we wish to make a historical synthesis of the first months of our stay in the Country FRANCE, until the UMMOAELEWE (GENERAL COUNCIL OF PLANET UMMO), in view of the surprising reports sent by the expedition group about the possibility of modifying the original plan of observation, given the possibility (inconceivable at first) of mingling with the OEMII (Human Beings) of this Planet without being identified, decided that our brothers should disperse over the EARTH.
For easily explained reasons we omit the surnames of some citizens of the Republique Française who in those weeks had contact with us (We suspect, with good reason, without having the slightest suspicion of our identity).
When, in the course of these chronicles, we omit a date, suppressing the number of the day, we do so because we judge that this datum, in the hands of some expert, might prove dangerous with a view to an identification that could be harmful to us.
We have also refrained from filling this story with certain facts of undeniable anecdotal value that constituted important milestones in the process of our eventual clandestine assimilation into the TERRESTRIAL SOCIAL NETWORK. These are certain contacts made with persons and Official Bodies (of the Central Administration and, in certain cases, Municipal ones) of the French State. Whenever these contacts, made of course under fraudulent name and Nationality, have been recorded in some way, documentarily, we prefer not to mention them for obvious reasons.
The Administrative and Technical Services of the French Government of that time were never aware of our arrival on French Territory. The news filtered through the local Press, and the rumours spread among the peasants by the few eyewitnesses of our descent, were lost among the jumble of news about the appearance at all points of this Planet of “Soucoupes Volantes” (Flying Saucers) published in the French Press. The French Government also had other more serious problems to solve at that time; for example, the Bidault Cabinet was facing in those days the implications of the Conflict that had arisen in the Gas and Electricity sectors, apart from the Indochina conflict, which absorbed the French specialists at that time. The French Intelligence services, the Deuxième Bureau, had moreover received disturbing indications that North Korean troops were analysing a plan for the invasion of the autonomous Territory of the South, and this might aggravate the World Tension of this Planet in an unsuspected way.
So that if the technical services passed on to the higher spheres the vague indications that we might have let slip inadvertently through the inexperience of our brothers, then ignorant of the French language, these must have been dismissed. Indeed: When in 1959 we were able to carry out a secret survey in official circles to obtain all the documents of the period that recorded in any way some suspicion about our arrival on Planet Earth in the South of the Country, &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& we found absolutely not the slightest reference to this “affaire”.
_______________________________
We have already explained to you how that French adolescent shepherd (Who is still alive), without suspecting our identity, by reading us some texts from the Press while we recorded the sounds, offered us a possibility we would never have dreamed of: to obtain in that way the means to translate our verbal expressions into French and to understand the meaning of your printed characters.
Our brothers decided to isolate themselves for some time inside our underground base in order to assimilate that linguistic fraction so precariously obtained. Many words printed in the newspaper cuttings were still unintelligible, but radio emissions of French Broadcasting were continually picked up, which were a great help. It was regrettable that we did not have equipment to translate Television emissions into images. Thanks to tropospheric Reflection, weak signals from other countries were even detected, but reception was phonic only and of course totally unintelligible to our brothers.
24 April 1950 marked a historic date for the first expedition group from UMMO. By then we had a very rudimentary scheme of the Social structure of the mysterious Planet Earth. We had again made contact with the UGEE (FRENCH CHILD), who, although he possessed only an elementary education, explained to our brothers the meaning of certain key words, which shed enough light on such important aspects as the Existence of autonomous Nations, the meaning of Money and certain customs of the terrestrials. The French garçon provided two copies of the press, Le Monde of 22 April and Le Figaro of 17 April; from them they learned, for example, that there existed a certain STALIN, about whom rumours of a serious illness were circulating. The UGEE knew of STALIN only that “He was the one who gave the orders to the communists”, the latter word being full of mystery for our brothers, who came across it repeatedly in the texts. A news item dated 23 April and appearing on the 24th in Le Monde reported, for example, that a certain Chiang Kai Shek had decided to abandon Hainan, the communists occupying Hoihow, capital of the Island. (It was impossible to obtain from the youngster the slightest reference to the word Chiang, or whether it was a Machine, an Entity, a social group or an Oemii. But our brothers had learned something very important. There was no homogeneity of language and Social structuring on this Planet. The terrestrial OEMII associated in large groups with cultural features of peculiar morphology, and IT WAS POSSIBLE, INCREDIBLE AS IT MIGHT SEEM, to present oneself to one of the Groups or nationalities masked under the name of another. It was possible to feign a non-existent language without arousing suspicion.
On 24 April 1950 it was planned to enter a dwelling that could be seen two KOAE from the Base point. To take its occupants by surprise and, without harming them, carry out a series of thefts for which they would be compensated in the future (as indeed happened in the year 1952). This was the first of the four acts of transgression against property committed in the French Department of Basses Alpes, and of another eighteen committed in the rest of France and in the Helvetic Republic. In none of them did the victims suffer injuries, and within a few months all were compensated. As soon as they were in a position to obtain money without stealing it, to forge the necessary identification documents, and to know the characteristics of some weapons, it was decided to put an end to such acts, which for us were justified.
On the night of 24 April, four of our brothers entered an isolated building out in the countryside. The location of the human bodies had previously been recorded by means of our UULEWUA (Detector spheres that move at any height). At three in the morning of the
(U-C Note: The number cannot be read clearly in the original. Probably 25) the labourers sleeping in one room, and a married couple who owned the dwelling, with their three children, were anaesthetized in deep sleep.
The following were taken: approximately seventy thousand (old) Francs, clothes, identity documents (which served to forge others like them), two ballpoint pens, a hygrometer in the shape of a nun, some keys, postage stamps, a bundle of paid invoices and bills of exchange for a tractor, several back numbers of newspapers. Books specializing in cattle breeding, an explanatory text on the characteristics of a combine harvester, and another guide to a tractor. A children’s encyclopaedia, a roll of toilet paper, a small fumigator against pests, an alarm clock, two incandescent lamps (In Spain you call them “bombillas”), a bar of soap. An electric switch was torn out, together with the energy meter, as well as several accessories of the Tractor, some tubes of medicine in the form of dragées, a little satchel with school homework, six pairs of men’s shoes and two pairs of women’s (All there were); they dismantled the Radio receiver, a small bottle of lemon juice, two potatoes, a wall calendar, a pair of pruning shears and an oil lamp.
Part of the set of objects was camouflaged some four hundred metres away to be collected the following night, and the rest was taken to the underground base.
For eight terrestrial days our brothers stayed without going out, analysing those strange utensils, trying to translate the printed texts and the images obtained of the interior of the rooms. All of it was fascinating. Our brothers had gone through those strange whitewashed rooms, examining the furniture made of a substance which at first they could not identify as being of vegetable origin. With the artificial light directed so that nothing abnormal could be observed through the windows, UURIO 79 son of IYIA 5, UORII 19 daughter of OBAA 7 and ADAA 66 son of ADAA 65 (Died on Earth in 1957) spent that night examining, for the first time in History, a Terrestrial dwelling. Outside, the operation was being controlled by ODDIOA 1 son of ISAAO 132.
On a pallet two terrestrials were sleeping under the effects of the anaesthetic gas. At first our brothers could not clearly identify their sex, although they already knew that on Earth the YIE let their hair grow. The sheets were removed after a small fragment of them had been cut off. Both bodies were partially undressed, sweat being collected from the armpits and the lower abdomen; samples of hair were also taken from the head, arms, pubis and legs. Samples of nasal mucus, eyelashes and vulvar secretion. Apart from the objects taken, a multitude of pieces of furniture, utensils, floors and walls were perforated to obtain quantified samples, which were coded according to the images (A kind of three-dimensional photographs) obtained of them.
It was not possible to obtain saliva samples from any of the terrestrials. In a jacket that was taken they also found a lighter and cigarettes.
Likewise they had time to take samples also from some cows kept in a nearby structure. It was necessary to anaesthetize two dogs that began to give great “howls” (That is the most correct translation of the notes recorded on that date)
Strange as it may seem, the yield of the analyses carried out, despite the great variety of objects obtained and the rich range of small samples taken, although it determined their chemical composition exactly, shed very little light on their functionality or use.
For example: it was impossible to determine what that fraction of saponified esters (Soap) might be used for. All inductive approaches to finding out the use of the oil lamp also failed. Still more astonishing was to determine, on the one hand, that the small motor of the electricity meter was driven by an alternating voltage, and to observe how its graduated dial recorded the Energy function; but it could not be determined whether what was involved was measuring TIME electrically, or some other periodic MAGNITUDE. The functionality of an old alarm clock intrigued them for quite a few UIW. At first it was even feared that it might detect the presence of our brothers at a distance, in case it had an emitting device. Its purely mechanical characteristics were quickly analysed. Because of its ringing they had serious doubts about its use as a measurer of the Magnitude Time.
A serious mistake was made when, by carefully perforating the glass of the lamps to extract a sample of the filament, the specification of their functions was considerably delayed. The filaments oxidized rapidly when subjected to an increasing electric voltage, and burned out. The cigarettes were identified by means of other IMAGES of OEMII obtained earlier. You will remember that they had been interpreted as special devices which, by emitting a gas, would help terrestrials to breathe. Our brothers were disappointed not to find inside them the complicated mechanisms they expected. The enigma deepened by several degrees.
But undoubtedly the practical importance of the find of money in banknotes, and of the clothes and footwear, considerably exceeded that of all the other objects.
We understand that the serious harm caused to that peaceful French family may provoke in you an attitude of severe reproach, even though they were later secretly compensated many times over. Our brothers too were worried about the immediate consequences of the action. Everyone was forbidden to go out, and the visual field of the surroundings was observed from afar, all measures of probable defence being taken. But despite the agitation observed at the farm and the comings and goings of some terrestrials from the small town, nothing abnormal happened. And that same night it was even possible to recover part of the haul hidden nearby.
